Camp Tapawingo Report
IRVOC's first Orienteering Meet at Camp Tapawingo was a great success. We had 23 starts with nearly 60 participants!! The terrain was great for setting multiple levels of courses and the lodge was fantastic to use for registration. We expect we'll be using this area again in future years. The rains held off long enough for most to get their courses complete while staying dry, but even the little bit of rain was well received as the temps were warm enough to make it comfortable.
Brian Lowry was our host for the event. As this was his first time hosting an event he had a lot of help getting the courses created and everything organized. Thanks to John Roxworthy and Mike Duncan helping with set up, Matt Bilbruck for helping with registration, and Cory Mason, Deanna Kennedy, Sabina Hlinenska and crew for helping pick up controls and clean up.
There was an grey long-sleeve shirt left at the registration point. If someone would like to claim it please email the club and we'll try to get it to you somehow.
Results of the event are below. Note to Brad, Tommy, and Jeff: I technically disqualified you since you ran the course backwards, but nice job completing the course. It's all just for fun anyway.
